"I am writing the first fan letter of my 48-year life about your company's performance of 'A Streetcar Named Desire,' which I saw tonight with my 21-year old son. We are a family of theater buffs. We lived in London for several years where we had the privilege of seeing actors such as Maggie Smith and Vanessa Redgrave on a regular basis. And, we have seen countless plays in New York, including a couple of productions of 'Streetcar.' I present this information not to be pretentious but to provide credibility to the statement that your 'Streetcar' was a brilliant production, which we found incredibly moving. To use a British phrase, my son and I were 'gobsmacked.'"

Courtney Patterson's performance as Stella, a role which is usually so overwhelmed by Blanche and Stanley, was a revelation. My son and I both commented during the intermission that we had never before seen her character protrayed as vividly or with as many dimensions.  [...]

Finally, Carolyn Cook, who we had just enjoyed a few nights ago in 'The Cherry Orchard,' transformed totally into Blanche. I could not believe it was the same person. Ms. Cook gave an achingly gorgeous performance that was an homage to Williams' fragile, complicated, and I believe, greatest creation. [...]

In fact, if I were an actor, I could not imagine wanting anything more than to thrill audience members the way you did my son and me tonight."--Melinda Ennis, Part Time Film Critic, AJC
